Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.” [link] There is something greater coming.
This year has been a good year….You’ve worked in me—slowly, maybe; painfully, perhaps; but I can see the changes. Your promise is true; You are with me. And even though I may have back-slidden countless times, grown distant and distracted by the world, vain in my pursuits and foolish in my stumbling (even now my heart is wandering), still you persist in Your goodness towards me. I want to be close to You, and at least in this day - even if it’s an over-commercialized holiday, some perpetuation of pagan naivetes, as cynics may sneer—it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t need to be Christmas. Today I just want to appreciate You.
To my beloved King, thank You. Oh God, I pray You would really impress onto me just who You are, and let that sink deep into my soul.
Thank You for being born. Thank You for being You.
